5Only "sippy cup" that worked for us.  Apr 12, 2008 By J Jarvis "J Jarvis"
We began introducing a sippy cup to our daughter around 8 months of age in preparation for the "big switch" from bottles. She hated sippy cups and would routinely throw them off her high chair. We tried every type of sippy cup on the market including the ones with straws (we have a cupboard full of them). Out of desperation (at age 14 months) we tried this one thinking it looked more like a bottle and voila!! it worked. This is the ONLY sippy cup she will drink out of - period. The fact that it is also high quality and made of bpa-free plastic is just a plus.

5We have a winner!  Jan 01, 2010 By ElleM
My daughter is 10.5 months old. We have been using the Dr. Brown's bottles since she was born, and I have long ago gotten tired of washing all the parts. Since her 6 month well child visit, when the pediatrician mentioned it, I have sporadically tried to get her to use a sippy cup. I have one of the hard spout with valve Playtex cups, and I bought a Nuby one thinking it would be closer in shape and feel (the nipple) to the bottle nipple. Well, she just bites the Playtex spout and frequently the Nuby one as well; sometimes when very, very hungry she will drink maybe 2-3 oz of formula from the Nuby then cry until she gets a bottle. I somehow ran across the Thinkbaby trainer cup and thought, why not? The nipple seemed somewhat closer to a bottle nipple. Well, we received it 3 days ago and it has worked out great - the first time I tried it one morning, I put just 3 oz in it thinking I might have to finish up with the bottle. I ended up having to pour the rest of the formula in as she was doing so well - and since then I haven't used a bottle at all! She has even been drinking water from it which I hadn't been able to get her to do much. Regarding some of the complaints on here - perhaps my daughter is not as strong a sucker, but the nipple doesn't really seem to collapse much on her, or at least not even to affect the flow. It sometimes leaks some if you are shaking it up and down (e.g., to mix up the formula) but when she was rolling it around and upside tonight on her highchair tray, nothing spilled out. I am very excited to finally be able to put away the Dr. Brown bottles, all their many parts, and the bottle rack taking up space on our kitchen counter! Haven't traveled with it yet, and it will be harder to fit it into the insulated bottle pocket on our diaper backpack as they are fatter, but overall this is an awesome cup!! Oh, and SO EASY to clean! I'm buying at least one more.

3Good and Bad  Sep 01, 2008 By E. McClellan
I agree with all of the parents other reviews that this was the only sippy cup my babies would take after the bottle my only complaint is that the mouth piece collapses when they suck on it and fluid begins to leak out of the cup. The fluid also comes out a little too fast for beginners, but that is a smaller issue than the mouth piece thing. overall it is a good cup.

5If your baby won't take a bottle...this is the sippy cup to try  Dec 17, 2009 By B. Powell
At 5 months when baby refused to take a bottle after being exclusively b-fed, we tried tons of different bottles to see if he would take any of them. He would just scream, and I was worried he'd never be able to stay with anyone else for an extended period of time because of it. This sippy was the answer. Since the spout is very similar to a bottle, I imagine it will be taken well by many babies, but the combination of the handles (baby loves to hold them himself) and the new experience of using a trainer sippy worked for us. He takes it without a problem! This is also great because unlike other sippies, it does NOT leak at all! If you drop it, or more likely baby does, it will not get on the floor. The bottle is not very heavy, as it has rather thin plastic walls unlike some sippies. I like this because baby does try to play with it, and I wouldn't want him to hurt his head if it knocks against him. It is easy to clean and dishwasher safe on the top rack. We have been using this same sippy for two weeks now and need to order more...but even with this constant use, it is holding up wonderfully.

5Got My Toddler To Switch From The Bottle  Mar 07, 2008 By A. Amores "Alexandra T"
I really recommend this, and the Thinkbaby bottles as well. They are great at preventing air bubbles, they're very easy to clean, they're safe, and they look so cute! My toddler is now drinking from the trainer cup everyday without asking for his bottle!
