Don't let kids suck on it! Dec 04, 2009

Drool and some toys just don't go together... This is a cute and fun toy! My daughter loved it, but she liked sucking on the top of it and the drool got into the circuitry. Needless to say it quick working within a week.

Sticker comes off into mouth Dec 14, 2009
By Daniel M. Roberts

My 1 year old son is constantly trying to play with our remotes -- he likes to press buttons and see the lights -- so we thought it would be a good idea to buy him one of his own. I bought this toy remote at Wal-Mart just a couple days ago. The sound and lights were perfect but the little wheel at the bottom seemed out of place and unnecessary. I bought it anyway because it was the only remote available at the store.
Within minutes of playing with the toy we realized that parts of the sticker were coming off and my son was chewing them. He no doubt swallowed some of the sticker and we just gave up on the toy right there. We will be returning it.

too hard to understand the words Sep 05, 2010

Since our son loves remote controls (anything with lights and buttons), and I want to expose him to different languages, this seemed like a great idea. In reality--not so much. First, here's what this toy does. You can select a language (English, French, or Spanish) using the "Hello", "Bonjour" and "Hola" buttons. The "?" key makes several animal noises and the "!" button makes some cartoonish sound effects. When you spin the wheel at the bottom you get one of 3 musical nursery rhymes, "what a nice day" in one of the 3 languages, or the soccer/futbol "Goooooaaaaaal". Because of the poor sound quality though, my dislikes far outweigh my likes. Likes: adjustable volume control, cute noises from the "!" button, and cute musical clips from the spinning wheel at the bottom. Dislikes: the clarity of the words spoken by the remote is borderline awful - I know my numbers in English/French/Spanish and I had a hard time understanding them - so how is this going to help a small child learn them? There is the same problem with the animal noises from the "?" button and the sentences spoken when you spin the bottom wheel. Additional dislikes: the dog sound effect is a mean growl+bark (vs. a happy bark), you can adjust the volume using the up/down key but the default setting is the loudest, and there is no "off" switch for the sound. (The Sesame Street remote control stays at the last volume setting and the sound can be turned off so baby can play with the buttons quietly.) Overall, this is a great toy concept, but poorly executed. Until they improve the sound quality, it's just another toy that makes annoying noises and lights up when you push the buttons.

Great Toy! Nov 03, 2009
By You Wish We bought this toy for our daughter because my cousin's son had one and he loved it. Plus we thought some of the sounds were funny. There all sorts of different sounds, songs, and phrases in 3 different languages. My daughter used to get ahold of our tv remotes and broke 3 of them before we got this for her. She loved pretending to change the channel on the tv. She's 2 1/2 now and found it in a drawer a few weeks ago - she still enjoys playing with it. I would highly recommend this toy!

Great toy, but the kid knows the difference... Sep 12, 2011

Great toy! here are the pluses - it has 3 different languages built-in. the scrolling button works great too. the minus - our kid KNOWS it's not real. he'll play with it as a toy, but he still prefers our remote controls.
