5Love These As DIAPERS!  Dec 14, 2009 By runtotorun
Pros:
Easy To Clean, Durable, Easy To Use, Compact, Safe For Baby
Best Uses:
Infants
Describe Yourself:
First Time Parent, Parent of Multiples (Twins etc)
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I read all the comments about these diapers, and I am amazed at how many people have complaints about their quality as a diaper.

I have triplets, and my husband and I are using these for our diapering. The Chinese and Indian prefolds are significantly more costly and with the amount of diapers we need for triplets it would be overwhelming to consider buying them; however, that being said, we used a diaper service for the first three months of our babies being home from the hospital. Of course they provided DSQ (diaper service "quality") Chinese prefolds. Immediately after we switched over to these my husband asked what I thought. We both agreed that while these become soaked SO DID THE CHINESE PREFOLDS! I don't know whose babies do not soak any cloth diapers, but our babies go through both types of cloth diapers with every feeding.

Maybe some people are not wanting to change as frequently as cloth diapers require, but coupled with plastic/vinyl overpants these work great for us. We change our babies every three to four hours, and we have no leaking and no diaper rash issues. At night we use a home-made insert as a doubler, and my understanding is that any cloth diapers require this at night. My babies make it through the entire night without leaking and no diaper changes until morning.

As one other person mentioned, I did pre-wash these diapers the typical recommended five to ten washes to prepare them for use. I also launder them on two cycles every two days, and I don't have any of the pilling or rough problems others have described.

As an economical choice I think these diapers are functional as diapers, and as far as I can see they are not less useful that the DSQ diapers we used. We will continue to use these and purchase more as they wear, but for half the price or less than Chinese or Indian prefolds these are perfect for our triplet household. :) My husband and I were both cloth diaper babies, and I KNOW my mother did not buy Chinese or Indian prefolds to use. I was in this type of diaper until I potty-trained super early, and I never had diaper rash so I feel positive about this product.

5Nice all purpose diaper  Sep 24, 2010 By Angela J Nehring "Angela"
A lot of folks who cloth diaper says these are terrible cloth diapers but I would not agree. There is definitely a place for these in my cloth diaper stash.

These diapers are low cost, fast drying, and if you double them up and fold them - you can use them like an insert in a diaper cover. Yes, Indian prefolds and Chinese prefolds are more absorbent - but they also take a lot longer to dry in the dryer. The more absorbent something is, the longer it takes to dry it in the dryer. And when you double them up and put them on baby- they are really not that much bulkier.

Yes, microfiber is more absorbent too, but you don't want microfiber on your baby's skin because it will cause a rash. I wrap a Gerber prefold around my microfiber inserts because the cotton in the prefold is so breathable and it is so much better for my baby. When my microfiber inserts are being "stripped" because they are not working right I had to use my Gerber prefolds as my regular diaper and they did great. Two Gerber prefolds folded in a diaper cover like an insert worked great (will last about 2 hours - which is how often I change my little one). For naps I added 3 Hemp Babies hemp doublers(made by Hemp Babies or Cotton Babies - they are super thin and super absorbent little doublers that you want in you stash) and that worked fabulous for my heavy wetter and lasted several hours.

Furthermore, when I first started cloth diapering, my little one had gotten a rash from a generic brand of disposable diaper - and I could not get rid of that rash even after I switched back to a premium brand. The first morning that I tried cloth diapering I put 2 Gerber prefolds in a diaper cover - and by the afternoon my babies rash was gone!

5Diapers  Apr 14, 2009 By KB
I use the diapers as burp clothes for newborns and personalize them with my embroidery machine. This diaper is made of good quality and weight and should not pill like the cheaper products.

5Perfect  Apr 10, 2011 By Mamiof4
I bought these to use as diapers for my 1 year old daughter. Disposable diapers are getting to be expensive and such a mess for the environment, so I decided to switch to these. I also purchased 2 'gdiapers' to use as covers. G diapers are cloth with a snap-in insert that is waterproof. I have used them before. I bought these gerber prefold diapers to use as inserts for the g diapers. They work perfect. They are a perfect size. The look funny when you first get them, expecially for me since I have never used cloth diapers, but then you wash them and understand, they shrink a little bit into a nicer cottony soft cloth. I fold them in thirds and then in half and stick them into the gdiaper. They work perfect. They are very absorbent, and my daughter pees a lot! I just throw them into the washer and they wash up nice and then dry quickly. I got smart with this baby! I wish I had done this with the other 2, would have saved so much money on stupid disposable diapers! If I ever need more of these (12 seems to be plenty for us) I will definately buy them again, no problem.

2Thin and small  Jun 18, 2011 By Dubilicious
First, you should know that I had used the Gerber premium cloth diapers before I purchased this pack.
Second, I don't use them as diapers but more for spit-ups, burp cloth, etc.
Now, to my comments ~ I really liked the size. They were larger than the premiums (size of dinner placemats, lets say). This would be great for placing the cloth over my shoulders. But, I washed and dried (normal cycles) them and boy did they shrink!! (Now, they look like magazine size.) It's all shriveled up and looks pathetic.
