Lifesaver Feb 08, 2008
By DisneyMom I waited a really long time to buy this because it felt like a lot of money to pay for a smock. I regret waiting at all. It makes feeding time infinitely easier- I don't have to completely strip down my toddler anymore or spend hours trying to clean out stains. It's long enough to cover his lap beyond the highchair tray (if you don't use a tray, part of the legs will still be exposed for spills). The neck is high enough to cover his collar which used to get hit even with a bib. It's really easy to clean, and I'm no longer afraid to let my child feed himself goopy, staining foods! It's completely worth it and I wish I'd had it since he started solids. Later edit: We've now had this smock for about 2 years and it's barely showing signs of wear. I throw it in the laundry about once a week for a thorough cleaning and just wipe it down with a paper towel between meals. The best way to get it clean is to turn it inside out in the wash and then hang it over a chair. It will dry extremely fast and get really clean. If you don't turn it inside out, the sleeves have a hard time drying on the inside where the absorbent fabric is. We LOVE this smock and just ordered a second one for my daughter.

Better for Art than for Eating! Nov 22, 2008
By Tayleah Surratt I bought this to use as a giant bib since my boy is a very active eater who always seems to get the undersides of his arms covered with food. This happens when he twists and turns in his chair and reaches for food, drink, etc.,. The smock provides great coverage but it could benefit from a pocket along the bottom and it could be much easier to clean. I have other "safe" plastic/vinly type bibs that are much easier to clean so I hardly use this one. I would not recommend it for a messy eater or even a mildly messy eater as it does not clean or dry quickly, especially for the price. Also, the color is not very well defined so food can get under it fairly easily, a wider border would be helpful. I can absolutely see using it less frequently for art projects like painting.

indispensible Apr 23, 2009
By Sarah C. Nunn I have never written a review for anything, ever. I guess I am just too busy, or lazy, or most likely something in between. But this bib is AMAZING! Like others, I balked at spending 25 dollars on a bib, but now I would spend 100! This bib gets used 3 times a day, everyday, and is thrown into the wash at least every other day. What I love about this bib is: my two year old with Down syndrome is learning how to eat on his own, and is, as one would expect, very messy. After a meal with this bib on, he will look like someone dumped a pot of spaghetti on his head, but then we take the bib off and he is spotless (except the unavoidable head and hands - I don't think we could cover that too), no clothes changing required. Works every time. The bib is voluminous, and covers pretty much every inch of him, and the elastic on the wrists keeps the bib in place well. The snaps in back stay snapped and are not wearing off like velcro. And, being, as I said, fairly lazy, I have never been a very thorough wiper of things, and I don't ever wipe this down - I just put it in the washer repeatedly, and it has held up perfectly. Waterproof and washable. Wow. This is has become my standard baby gift, it is that great.

The best bib out there Mar 20, 2008

The Baby Bjoern eat and play smock is the best bib i have ever bought. I was thinking about buying it for quite some time but didn't feel comfortable spending almost 30 Dollars ( including S$H)on a bib. After my son started feeding himself it became impossible to keep him and his clothes clean and I had to change his clothes if we had to go somewhere ( which is almost every day). I've owned longsleeve bibs before but the fabric ones let liquids pass through and I just couldn't find any plastic ones WITH sleeves. The Baby bjoern bib is water resistant on the outside and comfortable to the touch and also very soft. The inside has a cotton lining so it will be comfortable on baby's skin. I've owned it for a little over one month and I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT. For little messes I wipe it and for big messes I throw it in the washer. I have the red one and so far there haven't gotten any stains on it like my old rubber ones would get. My baby boy doesn't mind it at all , he's 18 months old now and it is still very roomy on him and Mommy likes it because it keeps baby clean. If you want a good bib invest in this from the beginning. I'm going to buy another one for coloring activities. One for food, one for fun. I'm going for blue this time.Love this item. totally worth the money!!!!!

No more stains on clothes! Sep 03, 2010
By CA Strawberry Girl

Finally! I was getting so tired of rubbing stain remover on my girls clothes- (mostly neck and legs, where they dropped their food) This is the perfect solution- it saves me time and sanity- I don't have to worry about staining their clothes. I wish I had gotten this sooner!
One recommendation-- the elastic on neck and cuffs absorbs water, so make sure that after you wipe the smocks down, you should squeeze out any excess water in these areas so that it will dry out for the next feeding. (otherwise it will stay wet and get stinky)
Also, for smaller babies, the neck opening is still somewhat loose. So it's helpful to put a cloth bib underneath the smock to catch any liquids or pureed foods that might run down the neck.
